Born in the year 1882, to a father who was an Excise inspector Mr Prakash Chandra, who has been an idol to his five children as well as a dotting personality..encouraged his children to go ahead in life to achieve their dreams.
In his earlier days, Bidhan had to undergo a lot of hardships which made him to realise there still of it for the people who are illiterate. He encouraged the thought that education is the only tool that coulg change the face of India and had something should be done to give it to the children and youth.
Bidhan had done his medicine in the renowed Medical College Calcutta.
He is also the Brahmo samaj member and a leading contribution. In 1961, He won the prestigious Bharat Ratna award for his uunconditionally service to the humanity.
Having an IA degree from Presidency College and BA from Patna college with honors in mathematics, was an added spark to this personality.
In 1909, after his 30 times rejection of his apllication from the St Bartholomew Hospital, the dean had to accept Bidhan for the application.
Dr BC Roy award was instituted in 1976 for work in area of medicine, politics, science, literate, arts.
In the year 1962, he expired on 1 july. 1 july is to be a National Doctor Day in the name of the great Dr BC Roy in his memory....
